Here we with the launch of weRockConcerts! This will be our home base from now for our charity efforts. Our third Charity Fundraiser Concert will be “weRock for the Children” with all net proceeds being donated to the Evans Home for Children in Winchester. This year, we have some awesome bands performing. They are SOUTHERN GOVERNOR, TROUBLEMAKER, RGP, BARCODE, 15 MINUTES, REBEL INC AND SILVERTUNG!
Lots of silent auction items and raffles will be taking place! We will transform the Blue Fox into a two stage venue for the evening! The pool tables will be removed and BAM, two rooms to rock in! We will also be visited by the lady behind “We Ride for the Children” to present their efforts to add to ours! Gonna be AWESOME!
Well now, Barbara Groves, Cindy Maguire and Jeanett Dillon set out on a mission and they really pulled through raising a ton of money for the Evans Home for Children with the “We Ride for the Children” bike journey to OC and beyond! Big shout out to Grove’s Harley Davidson for sponsoring the ride and to all the other contributors that made it a success. Now, it’s up to the local music scene to do their part to complete this two part effort this year to raise much needed funds at the Evans Home. “We Rock for the Children” is gearing up to be an awesome concert event, November 9th at the Blue Fox this year. Come on and join us and help make a huge impact for some great people and children.
Well the date is set, November 9th and the location this year will be the Blue Fox Billiards in Winchester. Conrad Coffman has really jumped in to help support our efforts by arranging the removal of all the pool tables to create an absolutely different venue for the event. There will be two stages in the club. One of course being the 101.5 THE BONE sponsored stage and the other will be sponsored by…oh, that’s still a surprise! The line up for music is awesome this year, guaranteed to rock your butt off and for a great cause to support the Evans Home for Children. If you would like to help our efforts as a sponsor, please contact Randy Gardner ASAP! It’s going to be another great event! SAVE THE DATE!
Please visit randygardnerproject.com for dates and information but short and sweet, RGP will soon package up with some local heavies like 8 Lives Spent, Southern Governor, 15 Minutes and Barcode to name a few. RGP is on a short list with a few regional and national acts too. They hope to get a few opening slots with all these groups! Stay Tuned!
Last night, I heard the finger-pickin-finesse and heart from what’s gotta amaze any blues guitarist around. And for around here, Doug Barton has stepped into the ranks right along side the absolute best. Man, I have heard some of the best and most prestigious local or regional blues guitarists around and Doug just blew me and the attending crowd off it’s feet. I was humbled beyond compare. The thing is, Doug is fifteen, yeah fifteen. This guy listens to the right stuff for sure. He’s already destined to be a mainstay on the pickers list in my book. Keep it up Doug, somewhere and someplace, the right person is gonna hear you and go, Holy Moly! I know I did!
Just saying, Randy G.
RGP has joined ReverbNation and is starting to post some of it’s rehearsal’s and such. A couple of cover tunes to go and RGP will begin writing their first CD together! Should be some awesome stuff so keep an ear out for it. In the meantime, go give them a listen to and a “Like” on their page! Just do it!
Pet the Monster asked RGP to open up for them at Apehangers in Bel Alton, MD and RGP jumped at the opprotunity to gain some out of town exposure. Jim Noble of Pet The Monster said this will be a blast playing Apehangers annual “I’d Tap That” St. Patty’s Day Party. Big huge thanks to Pet The Monster and to Apehangers for giving RGP a shot! This show is gonna rock!
Ryan Plunkett arrived Saturday night and set his mobile recording rig up in the CatBox. We were all here until about 2am! Including the infamous Brian Holt who gave us some good tips and told a few of stories on 8 Lives Spent in their studio! Sunday around noon, we started tracking drums and scratch tracks. We worked all through the day and into the night with Ryan leading us along the whole time. What a huge thanks goes out to his efforts. Everyone worked their butts off! This is only the begining and opens the pathway for RGP’s original efforts. Ryan’s work with Randy’s guitars are incredible sounding straight out of the box! Can’t wait to hear the finished product! Thank you, Thank you Ryan!
